Get cable shorten

Irvin D Burke

New member
I bought a 8 1/2 widescan last month, it had the 8 ft. cable. The dealer told me to send it in and they would shorten it as it turned out the coil was mistuned for my vaquero they tuned it and did cable too. What great service .I saw a post about this subject on forum so I thought I give my 2 cents.

Hi Irvin, That's the kind of service folks have been getting from Tesoro forever and they don't come any better than Rusty!, Man it gives ya a good feeling when you know your machines are in good hands and coming home ship shape! HH,! Charlie

Rusty has been with them since the 80s,if memory serves me right this am, as I was a dealer for many years and HE is a major reason they did so well in that time period through the 2000s. Absolute best customer service available BUT wrong tuning on a coil.........not good at all.John

What are you saying about the tuning on the coils. Was there a problem on tuining. When did they have the problem. What did they do to fix it or have they still got the problem. I have 2 Golden's and just sent them in to get the notch adjusted as they are a little out of whack. Plus I want one tuned to the 6" coil and the other one tuned to my shadow 9" coil. Thanks in advance. HH Jerry aka Tinfoil.

Coils are checked for "NULL"....then brought back into tune if needed, much different than adjusting ground balance on the detector for the coil in use.

I will probley have to adjust the G/B on them for this area when I get them back. They will probley null everything out although I did tell them I got mod dirt around here but I usallly put a little neg G/B in mine. Dirt usually reads about 50. Not bad but has a lot of sulpher in ground. Tares the hell out of coins. Thanks for help. HH Jerry aka Tinfoil

The coil I had went crazy everything it touched made it sound off if you touched any knob on detector it would sound off I turned sen. down but it didn't help but it's quite as a mouse now
