I have noticed on many occasions that when I record a GeoTrail that the entire trail either does not record, or part of it gets lost in the upload to the xChange2 software. Yesterday, I hunted for 6 hours without turning the CTX off. I checked the Map screen frequently to make sure it was recording. At least I checked to see if the GeoTrails were showing on the map screen. The Record On status icon like the other status icons are basically too small to see most of the time, so I'm not sure if it stayed on Record the entire time. At least, I did not intentionally turn the Record off. During this same time period, I recorded my track on my GPS Mapping program on my Smart phone. The phone stayed in my pocked most of the day, and apparently received an uninterrupted GPS signal the entire time.
When I uploaded the CTX GeoTrail to the xChange2 Software only 3 hr and 32 min had recorded (Image 1). You can see the entire track from my phone (Image 2). As I stated, this happens almost every time I Record the GeoTrails on the CTX; especially if it is a long hunt.
Also, prior to yesterdays hunt, I did a Factory Reset to make sure I was starting with a clean slate.
This is not a GPS signal issue as I was hunting in a wide open area. I did not intentionally Stop or Pause the recording. Apparently, I did not exceed the CTX system memory as the FindPoints continued to record. I feel this is either a software problem, or that I have a defective CTX.
Sadly, there is no way to view the GeoTrail on the CTX once you are at a different GPS location to make sure it is all there before you upload to the xChange2 software.
Since the Start Trail (green flag) and I assume the Stop Trail (checkered flag) are both shown, I have to assume that the Recording actually stopped at this point meaning that it is not a problem with the upload to the xChange2 software.
Does anyone have any thoughts or suggestions?
