Georgia on My Mind

Took off work last Friday: March 22, 2019 to detect with a friend who has permission on 55 acres S. of Gettysburg. My second target with my new machine Nox 800 was a Georgia Frame Buckle-Confederate at 3 inches in the mud/mire, could not believe it! Nox 800 rang out solid 39 lock on. And the next target 5 feet away was a Virginia State Seal Button-Confederate with full backmark: Waterbury. Nox rtang out solid 21-22 high tone at 6 inches. I dug my first Block I same site 3 weeks ago. We believer this site has never been touched as of to date; 2 block I buttons, 2 Virginia buttons, and i NC starburst buttons, 2 CS wreath and tongues and about 6 US breast plates including mine that I dug 2 years ago. We believe this was part of the Gettysburg Campaign of 1863.

Sites like this do exist but you have to do your research. HH

Wow.. nice buckle and a great site to hunt...Congrats on the save

Coinworld, this Georgia Boy really likes the Georgia Frame buckle. Congratulations. This piece looks to be in good shape too. One of my hunting partners found one down here back in the 80's. He had a replica cast from the original and he wore it with his uniform doing living History. We portrayed the 30th Georgia Volunteer Infantry Co.E Army of Tennessee. These buckles are pretty rare to find these days and you have a really nice one. This will look great in your display. Again, Congratulations on a great piece of CW and Georgia Confetrit Saved History. Well Done.:csflag::please:

Nice saves Coinworld!! Research is the most important half of the hunt. Safe to say you are liking the Equinox :detecting: It would be great to share these finds on the Equinox forum along with your settings,
thanks in advance

Thank you Confetrit-

This is my first ever Confederate buckle-took my 20 years of relic hunting to find this piece of history. Now I am ready to save some more civil war history..

Great job, Civil War sites are pretty rare in Florida, I'm jealous !!!
