George Got a Haircut

Hit another spot that I've hunted alot, & found quite a few silvers.
Got a nice high tone reading around 31. Was pretty certain I had
some silver. recovered this clipped 1944 Washington. Only my 4th hunt
with my new Equinox 800 and got 2 silvers from spots I have hunted hard in the past
My previous hunt I was getting alot of falsing so this time I lowered the Sens a bit &
it quieted down.Still amazed at the recovery speed, I put it in All Metal &
swing the coil & it sounds like a machine gun, hitting all kinds of metal
I still have a lot to learn but I'm enjoying this machine.

nice find. I've always heard these cut coin attributed to lawn mowers. I've always wanted to see the lawn mower that can cut a coin that cleanly.

Jason --

It's a reel mower that does it -- which is why these types of cut coins are often golf course finds. Rotary mowers don't cut that cleanly, but a greens mower, or fairway gang mower, will. Here's an example -- they cut like scissors...
