Got out for couple hours today to a local old park, ( late 1800's to present day). Park is a 17 mile long floodplain park. It is literally beat to death. So you have to think outside the box, and I am sure glad I did. But first a warning! You must use skeeter repellant, skeeter headnet, more spray, URGENT! DO NOT forget headnet. Whilst I was not hunting in the woods, I was close enough that the dinner bell was heard. Because this park is hunted so much, I decided to put my SunRay 5" ultra coil on and went into the trashiest areas I knew, really old picnic areas that have succumbed to non cutting of the grass through the decades. Dang lazy county workers! First signal I got was an 11-39 not a signal I usually dig, because that's a pulltab on my machine. BTW I am using Bill's trashy park pattern on my Etrac. I dug a 1939 - 3 pence coin, 2 inches deep. Then I went to an area near the creek and was hunting the top of the bank IN THE GRAVEL! Got a coin signal (actually turned out to be brass) and dug up this Gene Autry adjustable brass ring that still has some of the silvery plating on it. I have searched all over the net and could only find one reference to it being originally made in 1941 and is extremely rare.......NGE
