when you described the bottle cap sounding like a "fart", If it sounded like a "jackhammer" fart?? But now because you posted it, I know it sounds like a "two cheek squeez". LOL
Great post!
Rusty in Chicago.

Yeah, I forgot there are so many different types and classes of farts. You're right, it's more like two cheek squeez and not a beer-and-hard-boiled-egg-on-a-barstool fart. :)

I feel the foil is similar to some rings , but after you listening to these it seems to come back quicker, the series is faster and the tone not at deep to my ears , its very intriguing I have really enjoyed it ,

Excellent...glad to hear that.

The biggest point is that there is a fine line between gold and aluminum. And your description of the quality of the sound with the foil is dead on. Further, that is the BEST sounding foil you will ever hear because it's a 1" x 1" piece under "laboratory" conditions. Most of the REAL foil you will hear is even more "sick" sounding. Like the foil at the bottom of the page below, by Jim, who I should point out thought of this years before I did. :)

The Sovereign and the Excal are very much alike but there is difference in their sounds. And there is definitely a wide variance in the sounds on coins and all types and sizes of gold jewelry.
