Gentlemen,I Apologize About The Sovereign.

Will Penny

New member
I read CritterHunter's post about the Sovereign and keeping it civil. I though to myself, everyone will be calm and cool and not really give a meaningful answer. The only way to get an honest answer from someone would be to insult the Sovereign. I think I did a good job because the answer's given were meaningful and if not the fear of being kicked off,I think there would have been other words spoken.

The forum was getting dull and I just wanted to get people fired up. I bought the first Sovereign the first year it was out and still use the same machine today. The best feature about this machine is the Iron On/Off switch......Guy's I could not help myself....SORRY....CritterHunter,nice post after you cooled down.

Will Ive thought about that myself, never seeing any of the minelabs win at the GNRS hunts or similiar. Ive never been to one but the results get posted after the hunts and I dont think Ive ever seen a minelab in the top finishers. They do put forth a team, and honestly I havent looked lately so maybe they have won recently.

Are the hunts you mention indeed like comp hunts or are they more all day hunts? It looks like the GNRS hunts are spread over several days. Ive been to comp hunts and those last 30mins to 1hr at most, from the ones Ive been to.
I know someone who went to one of the sponsored hunts from another forum, was on a track of land that had supposedly not been hunted(so nothing was planted) and it was a several day affair. mostly pit digging from what I remember being told and if I remember right the Tejon was the detector most used on that one.

its all good fun comparing detectors performance, I thought your post was an interesting one and had a good laugh:detecting:

I have attended these hunts for years and some are 2-3 days long. It is not how fast you can swing or how fast you can run,it is based on many categories like, bullets, coins, etc, etc. found. So if a person has a wide sweep speed, someone will walk behind you and find that $3,000 buckle. These hunts are 8 hour days. Name of the game is hunt tight and slow.

Will, I must have missed something because I'm not even sure what posts you are talking about? Whatever it was, must not have been a big deal to me because I don't even know why you'd need to aplogize to people. I like hearing all opinions, not just ones that I agree with. Keep up voicing your opinion and views and don't let anybody try to scare you out of doing so.

LOL.... just kidding... hehe... :poke: :minelab: :twodetecting:

Now go find something!!! It is freezing here with 6" of fresh snow and ice... got the fire going, homemade soup, watching "The Last Waltz" movie by The BAND and reading the forum. Threw extra sunflower seed, oats, leftover bits of dried fruit, pieces of bread, and cat food in the back yard and it is FULL of birds.

Having a nice day! I wish you one too.. and everyone else.

Julien

 If I ever have made a personal remark I would without hesitation apologize for it. I try not to do that and stick to the subject at hand. However, I do make no apologies for my opinion when it comes to metal detectors. In that respect I give my honest/un-censored view. Take it or leave it. :starwars:

minelab has never won the team competition but 5 plates were found with the explorer at the first hunt i went to.
