GENERAL WHEELER

Treasure Seeker

New member
FOUND THIS ON A FIRST DAY OF A HUNT WITH A NEW FISHER F4 THE FIELD I WAS HUNTING IS ABOUT 2 MILE'S FROM GENERAL JOE WHEELER'S HOME SITE IN ALABAMA. NOT SURE WHAT IT IS I DON'T THINK HE WAS EVER AN AGENT AFTER HIS MILITARY LIFE AS A GENERAL Joseph Wheeler (September 10, 1836

Nice find ! Since you were close to his home, maybe it belonged to one of his family/relatives ?

What does the back look like? It cant be a printing plate because it's readible. Maybe it was to be worn as a name plate or badge of some type???d2

Wonder if he had any family members that might have been some kind of agent. If I find anything I will post.
Cool find though!
HH,
Bunker

What did he do before the Civil War? It looks to be a homemade ID tag.

******* not sure what he did before and at what time in history did agent's first appear i due agree it may be homemade i wish it did not have agent on it and said general wheeler i due think it's from a family member and is old how old not sure it was around 10'' deep around a old home site that is no longer there only some rocks in the middle of a cotton field

Perhaps a buried boundary marker Real Estate Agent ????
