Gem identification

I suspect if you simply look for precious gems or jewelry settings you will get at least a starter book to refer to.....

Gems are kinda easy.....
Blue= Sapphires
Green= Emeralds
Red= Ruby
Diamonds=Clear
Etc... Etc...

IF..? any of these colors are in a TRUE GOLD setting or ring, then you win the lottery.💰💰💰
I need to be able to test gems when found to verify they are real. Any ideas?

You can get a diamond tester, but if it is a newish ring, then you have to get tested for synthetic diamond

Except for purchasing a diamond tester which I have purchased, the other precious stones probably require a gemologist or a qualified Jeweler. But like I said if the stone is set in true gold or platinum then you can rest assured it's probably a precious stone. That's about the best advice I can give in the extent of my knowledge on precious stones
