GD-48 Metal Detector

During my school years in 1970 I believe it was I purchased a GD-48 Metal Detector kit. The upper cover broke at the base of the handle and later the wires came off the coil under it. There is a Red, White, Black and a green wire coming out of the handle. I'm trying to restore the Knight kit but have ran into a problem. All the schematics has on it A, B,C. My circuit board has in order the numbers 6-8-7 and not the A, B, C. Do I have the wrong circuit diagram and how do the colored wires connect to the circuit ? I do want to restore the detector because it brings back memories of the good old days. I am 70 years old and have gotten back into metal detecting.

Thank you Joe.
Sorry I did not see your reply earlier. I will reply along with three photographs of where the question is for the connections of wiring from the lower handle of my GD-48 to the coil circuit board.
