Well the day started out to be a nice warm 42 at 6am day so it was time to hit the cactus filled slopes. I grabbed some gear, 3000 + 12x24ufo, Doc's bungee, the pocket rocket a scoop and pick digger and a spare detector. With my jacket it got hot right quick and the ufo got heavy by lunch time For a guy that needs new knees it don't take long to get tired.
I ate lunch and decieded to get the Gold Bug 2 out as there was a dry wash pile in the middle of the place that I had parked. The pile had been driven over and was packed. I didn't have to do any scraping to get the 1st signal and inside about 40 minutes my wife said it was time to go. But I will be back with a hoe and rake to see what else is there. In all I found 10 little pieces and I mean little. They weighed in parts of grams .080, .082, .098, .100, .120, .138, .174, .220, .262 and .292 grams for a total weight of 1.566 grams.
Sometimes it is just fun to go for the little guys.
The smallest I have found with GB2 and 6" weighed a whopping .026 gram.
When the big ones aint home, go for the little ones
enjoy and HAGD

A n MT-Ya gotta just keep on a loving them great GB2"s!!Mines with me for the long run!!Tons a au 2 u 2-John PS getting a third opinion on whatz left of my knees next month, sure make beeping a mite rough!!

I think for most guys you need that GP3500 and a GB2. The GB2 is such a specialized little unit, very light, and you are right, very fun to use.

When you have a tailings pile of fines, and you don't want to go deep, but you want something that will find those pieces the dry washer missed, nothing beats that GB2.

I just hate that it uses 9 volt batteries. I hate 9 volts.

When I first got mine I was a little miffed about the fact that you had to manually ground balance the thing because I was so used to Minelabs and auto ground balance. But, just like everything else in life, if you do it enough it becomes second nature.

Thanks fo the pictures!
