GB2 Tech. Question

Nevada Desert

New member
Hello; I'm new to this forum. Have been hunting nuggets for a long time with GB, GB2 and ML 2000& 3500's. I use the GB2 a lot and love it.

Over the years my GB2 has had problems with what I thought was the discriminator switch. (flip the switch up and tone doesn't change from threshold no discrimination ) I've sent it in for repairs several times and each time it works for a year or so.. Friends with GB2's have had the same problems. My unit is long past its factory service time, so to save time I purchased the same switch C&W 7203 and carefully replaced it. I didn't change out the resistor. It still doesn't switch to Disc. mode?

Has anyone had this problem? Is there a fix besides sending it back to fisher? I need to use it next week Thanks Bob

It was a C & K 7203 switch........I found out that it was worn out..plus a broken wire......right at the switch. When I went to re solder it it pulled out of the insulation. Poor ole machine has taken some abuse....bob
