GB2 batteries stuck.

Hey, has anyone encountered batteries getting stuck in their gold bug 2.
I just replaced my batteries with Rayovac maximum plus'. Since it's winter they are taken out after use, but this time I have been unable to remove them. The diameter is definitely larger than the last pair, and the little metal rim around the bottom is smaller. I been trying palette knives, tape, pliars,..., to no avail. Anyone else, experienced this, or have any ideas on getting them out

I'm assuming dead. Usually, it's been my experience that a swollen battery is all-but dead.

Have you thought about some string and superglue? Place the string on the exposed end of the battery, glue it in place, and pull the battery out with the string?

try drilling a small hole in the batt, then driving a sheet metal screw into it. Now you should be able to grab the screw with pliers and pull it out. Of course the batts are ruined but who cares, they were too big anyway.

I've had them get jammed in my GB1. I removed the control box from the stem and took off the coil connector. I then whacked the control box bottom against my other hand, the impact usually jarred them loose enough to grab onto.

The glue or screw ideas are good too if you don't want to be beating on the box.

As a last resort, remove the big nut from the coil connector and the housing should slide off, letting you try other methods of extracting them.

on the 1236x2 Just don't hit it against a hard surface or you may be sorry. That style battery compartment and Ray-o-vacs do not get along. Stick with the bunny.
