GB 80 and FEO at max

Anyone come up on ground where ground balance settled in on 80 and FEO meter was at max?
I've found one area about 100 sq yards behind a local school where the GB and FEO is basically the same anywhere in this area. I've been keeping detailed information about each hunt in this area. I've found that most of the time a coin will give a fairly good audio 2 ways but never a 4 way. The VDI numbers are seldom where they normally are so I usually dig by the audio most of the time. Anyone found a place like this where they hunt, please comment.
By what I've read, this kind of ground is common in the gold bearing areas.

I hunt an old fairgrounds up in Mn when vacationing up there that pretty much does the same with my F 75. Always 3-4 feo bars and g/b near 80. Parts of Mn has some very tough ground, lots of iron flecks, I am told. HH jim tn

Hi Mark,

I am located in British Columbia Canada and we are a mineral rich geological area, (gold rush country). I have hit areas that read 80 (and above) and from .3 on up on FeO2.
I do get some one way signals in these areas and some unusual VDI #'s also. I think that some targets tend to "blend" into the soil matrix as they begin to oxidize, ie: targets with a ferrous component, copper coins, zinc, etc, and they start to combine as a signal and thus do not act as they might in milder ground where they would stand out more from the back ground soil. No expert but I know that signals do degrade with these high reading sites.
I tend to dig whatever will repeat to my satisfaction when this happens, and yes, trash digs do go up.

I'll be going back to do some soil test with a strong magnet. At least that will show me something about the soil composition.
