Gas is going to top $3.00 a gallon in about another month..

It's gone up 30 to 40 cents a gallon in the past month. It's about $2.75 a gallon here now. Going to be a very expensive summer and the greed mongers are going to slam it to us.

Probably no real excuse for it either. What bugs
me is the oil companies are raking in record profits.
I just bought another gas sipper car about 3 weeks
ago. It is a 05 toyota corolla. That thing may save my
rear considering the miles I've been driving lately.
I drove about 1900 miles just in the last week.
I had to go to Oklahoma twice last week looking at
land. 900 miles round trip. Here, gas has been about
2.39. But it's steady cranking up. I've been averaging
about 37 mpg on that corolla with a lot of 70 mph
driving. On the way up the other night, I was doing 65
as the speed limit is lower at night. I got about 40 mpg.
A good bit better than even my older honda accord.
I traded for another property in OK... I had originally
bought 10 acres in Hughes county. But I had access
problems being the roads were so rough, so I traded it
for 5 acres on Lake Eufaula. It's not lake front, but
close enough you could walk to it. I can drive even
my corolla to the lake property. I almost needed a 4wd
for the Hughes land.. I took a 07 taurus rent a car to
the Hughes property the first time I went there, and
nearly thrashed the thing... :( I had so much mud on it,
I had to spend 6 bucks in quarters to get most off, and
then I had wash it again when I got back to Houston.

$2.75 plus here right now and going up. The greedy arse oil companies are going to rip us to pieces this summer. Greed is destroying this country and it won't be long until it folds completely. Already consumers owe over one trillion bucks on their credit cards and thousands upon thousands are unable to meet their house payments. It won't be long. Also they don't have much money to lose for us to find. :)

Bill[/quote]I guess we will have to start saving those beer cans that lock on as a quarter and :pulltab:

It is a simple case of supply & demand. Think twice about driving on the uneccessary trip, demand decreased, supply increases, prices drop.

Myself, I have to drive.. Quite a bit.. No real
way to avoid, being my work "office" is my truck,
I go out of town a lot, and I'm constantly going
back and forth from the house to hospital, etc...
The only way I can conserve is to drive the little
peanut whistle cars.. Which I do most of the time.
My work truck is a full size ford, but at least has
a 300 six banger. But even it drinks like a fish
compared to the little corolla.. The yota gets double
the mpg of the truck, and then some.
