Here is the link to Gary Drayton's CTX 3030 testimonial https://www.minelab.com/anz/go-minelabbing/treasure-talk/the-ctx-3030-road-warrior
I wish I kept track of how many times mine has been taken down and traveled over seas without a hitch.

That's interesting.
I wonder how many weeks he waits when he sends his 3030 to Kellyco for service.:)
Nice commercial.

FWIW -- Kellyco does not do the service for Minelab anymore. Minelab has a new repair facility...

I'm fully aware of that but that is new and if you follow the timeline , the service center was Kellyco during most of 2017.
The salient point being do you think he receives the same service as you and I ? ,,,,,hence the nice commercial.

Yes , the irony is inescapable , especially after Minelab put Jamie forth on the forum to attempt to deal publicly with some of the durability and service issues they were confronted with. I will give Minelab kudos for finally addressing it , even if it was conveniently just before the announcement and introduction of the Equinox.

I understood the repair reference without the explanation. Just saying

I wonder if the lack of service near the end was due to a service contract expiring. The new repair center certainly seems to have taken off like a rocket ship. That says a lot.

I think you guys referencing the term "breakdown" are taking it out of context. From what I read it refers to disassembling his detector to make it fit in luggage.
I also read where it didn't give him any problems, meaning no repairs
