Garretts don't detect like other detectors...................

I'm told..............so don't expect it to work ......like your previous brand. I've heard this statement over and over again. So Guys and gals....fill me in ,,,,,,,,,,,tell me what's different and what to watch out for. Tell me how Garrett detects different from other detectors. I have the GTP 1350 and I'm finding I have to run it a sensitivity " 6".... this has me wondering if I'm losing alot of depth???? How well can a detector perform at this low sensitivity setting? All my previous units ran at 9 or even 10 .......thanks for you help on this one>

They detect better...........:clapping::rofl:

I use the 1500.you shouldnt lose any depth.If your in a real old area try zero discrimination and listen for the high tones amongst the low iron tones.also if youre in a clear area you can crank the machine up and get an extra inch in depth.I live where the soil is mostly mineral free,this might make a difference from where you live.

Since I field tested the prototype and production model of the 1350 I can tell you. Garretts are more sensitive than many other detectors and you don't need to run the sensitivity wide open - and you won't lose any depth. Sensitivity is not a depth contriol. It does not force the signal deeper into the ground the higher it is cranked up. This myth has been around for years. I run all my Garretts, including the 1350 at reduced sensitivity, unless I'm in some realy heutral ground where I can crank it higher but I've had no problems with losing depth.

I use the Gti 2500. It has a voice feature that can tell settings, probable target size and depth. It also has an imaging feature that shows target size. These features work in discrimination and all metal modes. These are patented Garrett features. I live 8 miles from the Nautilus factory which has always been known as a deep seeking relic finder. Since owning my GTI Ive been searching some old parks and other areas the Nautilus guys arround here stripped mined. Ive dug silver coins and jewelry and showed them just to see the puzzled look on there face. I read several books about charles garrett and I think the photos below from 1969 show him as a true electonical genius.

Yeah before Garrett detectors Charles was an aerospace engineer who designed guidance systems for ICBM's and the rockets we shoot into space. He be plenty smart.
