was "lucky" enough to get a Garrett 1000 on E-bay a few weeks back. I got it at a real good price, and when I received it, I found out why. Now to be fair, the man selling it was doing a favor for the widow neighbor next door, and said he didn't know anything about detectors and that it worked the last time her departed spouse used it. Well, that must have been about 10 yr.s ago. It had corroded batteries still in it and the LCD display was a jumble. So I boxed it up and shipped it to Garrett, hoping for the best, and that's what I got. It arrived yesterday and looked like a new one. They basically replaced everything in it and it works great now!! And the total bill for all this:(drum roll, please) $82!! What a deal!!! Now I've got yet another Garrett!! Thanks Brad at Garrett for a job well done!!
