I am aware this is NOT the Garrett forum......but a Bounty Hunter man ticked off at his "supposed to be the best of the best" Garrett Pro Pointer is posting this. Sorry for bringing one of "those" subjects to our forum site.

I am about to return my Garrett Pro Pointer for the following issues (which seem to be common):
1) The unit falsely beeps and vibrates if I use too much pressure on the tip. I understand the tip is not designed for “excessive” pressure. I am talking about pressing the unit’s tip into a pile of loose soil…..not compacted and hard.
2) Sometimes the unit continues to beep and vibrate even after it has been removed from the hole and is no longer near a metal object.
3) Sometimes the on/off button has to be pressed multiple time in order to turn the unit on and get it to remain on.
4) When my first battery was depleted, the unit failed to give me a low voltage tone to warn me until just before it shut down. I'm not sure if that's the way the unit is designed to work or not. I expected it to warn me maybe 15-20 minutes or so before it would shut down.
My pointer is only 6 months old. We'll see how well they stand behind their product.
HH y'all.
Frank
