Garrett Pro-Pointer

I watched a demo on here between the Minelab Pointer and The Garrett Pointer. His Garrett Pro Pointer sounded off when put near a small gold nugget, mine want.I put mine near a small bottle of gold and it didn't make a sound.Anyone know why the Garrett Pro Pointer want sound off on gold? Thanks,Bear Creek Bill,USAF Retired

It will not sound off on a flake or even a small bottle of small flakes. It take a larger piece too register. I know of no pinpointer that is as sensitive as a dedicated vlf gold detector on small gold

The Garrett Pro-Pointer is quite capable of detecting small gold.........how to was explained on the Garrett :ausflag: Infinium LS forum in 2009.
Can also use a Side Kick.

Detectors and pinpointers all read individual flakes so must be good sized. Same problem with thin gold chains as they don't read the whole usually, just the clasp if big enough-John

If you want to detect SMALL gold get a Gold Bug 2 with a 6 " elliptical........way more sensitive than a Garrett pin pointer. A GB2 will detect a sub grain flake of gold a Garrett p.p will not
