Garrett Pro-pointer repair

Goldstrike

Well-known member
I have a Garrett Pro-pointer that needs a new switch. I haven't contacted Garrett yet to see if they would replace the switch (and how much would they charge)? I was wondering if any of you might have had this problem and also who did you get to fix yours? I love the Pro-pointer but the switch's on them are so fragile! If the repair is too much, I'll just splurge and get a new one.
This would be a back up by the way and I have a working pin-pointer. Thanks in advance!

I would call Garrett and see if it is covered under warranty..
I had sent mine in for falsing. I used it three times and it started falsing worst than before. I called them about getting it repaired a second time.. I was told that it was out of warranty and would cost $21.50... so I sent it in and got a call from Garrett and then they said it would cost $55. I had them just send it back. I repaired it myself insulted the coil wire as shown on a youtude video. When I took it apart I noticed one of the locking tabs that holds the switch assembly together was missing... apparently it was broken off from Garret's repair. I glued the switch back together. I've used the GPP 6-7 times and still working good

Thanks pan4au! It is out of warranty and I was thinking of biting the bullet and trying to repair it myself. I'll call Garrett to get a repair price first. Thanks again! G.S.

same thing here...switch went out on my 3 yr old PP'r. Bought a new one from a forum member but wondering about the cost to fix the broken switch? PP'r treated me very well up to that point. Try and imagine how many times you hit that switch over the yrs. so breaking is completely understandable....imo

let us know, if you would, what they charge for a switch fix...????
