Garrett Pro Pointer issues?

So I bought the Garrett Pro Pointer AT in June and it seems to be having issues after only a few uses. Has anyone else experieced problems with it? It not only goes off on everything, even after i ground balance it but it will go off while holding it in the air away from anything. Sometimes it will go off and stay going off continuously until you turn it off and back on again.
i even changed the battery thinking this would make a difference but didn't.
I have a big "group" archaeological dig coming up in a few weeks and need to get it fixed or replaced.

Try turning it on when your arm is fully extended, and when you are using it, make sure you keep a a good distance between you, your pouch and the Pro Pointer. Make sure you are using decent common brand 9 volt batteries. Some of the off brands selling "CHEAP" are actually a bit shorter then the common Duracell type battery and can cause issues at the battery contacts.

Thanks for the advice. I talked to Garrett today and they had me send it back to the repair center. Hopefully they will replace it.
finger crossed they get it back to me before my big hunt coming up.
