Garrett pro-pointer fatal mistake

New member
Hi everyone. I'm new to this forum but have been following it for about 11 months when i bought my AT Pro. Love this hobby! I have a problem. I had a dumb idea to take apart my pointer to clean it because it was falsely going off and very quiet because of dirt in the speaker. I should have researched it before taking it apart but now I know the switch springs apart and the 3 wires pull off the board. Can I send it to Garrett for repairs? How much will it cost? I bought the new Pro Pointer already but would like to keep my old as a back up. Thanks in advance for any help.

Been there, done that. They said something like $48 to repair mine, or $89 for a new one. I opted for option 1 since I had just ordered 2 of the new ones, thought I would get it fixed and use it as a loaner. When it came in it was a NEW one in the box I sent them. WELL DONE GARRETT!
