Garrett pro pinpointer..

Dan-Pa.

New member
Anyone know of a fix or does it have to go back to Garrett....Once it hits a target it keeps right on going even when moved away from target. Will shut off if shutoff switch hit so switch is not the problem..Thanks ahead of time ...Dan

Mine does that sometimes when it is extremely hot outside, so I sometimes have to shut it off and turn it on again. Make sure you have a good battery, and you might need to add some cardboard inside the cap to advance the battery connectors about one millimeter for better contact. Good luck....hope this helps.

At one year of age my pro pointer would sometimes just start beeping for no reason and I had to either tap it lightly or turn it off to get it to quit. Sometimes it would indicate a target when there were none present. I tried a variety of things to try to get it to work properly and finally sent it back to Garrett. They had it repaired and back in my hands in 8 days from the time they received it. I purchased a new one in the mean time and it did the exact same thing. I took it back to the dealer. He indicated that he had sold a couple of them over the years that were faulty from the factory. I was very pleased with the outstanding service that I received from Garrett's Svc Dept.

Any company can get bad parts or have a break down in the build process, but it's what they do after the sale that counts and Garrett bends over backward to offer great customer service. Glad you got your propointer fixed. It sure is a lifesaver when your coins look the same color as the dirt and you can recover many more targets faster than just feeling thru the dirt. HH.
