Garrett pro pinpointer

Lake hunting as in the dry shorelines??? Muddy shorelines or do you plan on submerging the pointer completely???
The pointer is more of a Water Resistant tool than a waterproof one.
Don't plan on being a happy hunter if you decide to submerge the Pointer often.

No water, no way, no how...unless you marine silicone up the speaker and light holes and then wrap with waterproof tape for extra measure. Believe me, I drowned one already. I sealed the speaker hole, really just because it's not needed and is annoying, and didn't think about the light being a hole. I wish Garrett would make one without those two things. Kinda useless as far as I'm concerned

I've laid mine down in wet grass many times, and it's been lightly rained on with no problems. But I wouldn't push my luck with it

maybe they be like this in the future

yes! I have seen this before and I believe that Liquipel will be huge! Just imagine being able to waterproof any electronic device....the implications on future electronics will be tremendous!

Could you use a food saver bag and evacuate the air out of it and make it waterproof? Or, would it cause it to over heat? You would have to reseal it everytime you changed the batteries, but I have only changed my batteries once since I bought it. Of course, I don't get out to metal detect like some of the other members of this forum.
