Garrett pin pointer falsing

My PP has been falsing a lot. Getting worse. Most of the time I can turn it off and back on and it's fine but yesterday it was worse than ever. I noticed when I squeeze the end of it w my hand it will go off. Is there a fix for this?

Sometimes this is caused from poor battery contact. Not all 9 volt batteries are exactly the same size. Open the screwcap on the Pinpointer and add a small piece of small paper folded over 3-4 times on top of the battery.. This should push the battery down an extra 1/8" and make better battery contact.

Good luck!

This has been a major problem for Garrett over the past few years. I sent mine in for repairs last year. After the repair I used it around three times before it started falsing again. I called Garrett and they wanted $21.50 to fix it. I sent it in for repair three weeks ago and they called me today and wanted $55 to fix it.. I told them to just return it to me. I no longer have faith in tyhem to be able to fix this problem.. I'm not bashing them.. I like Garrett I've been using their detectors since the 1980's.. stating with the ADS-7 and now using a AT Pro
