I locked at some today at a detector shop and that's the only thing that turns me off, it feels like a toy I hate that in a high end machine. HHH.

The At Pro now has the cam locks.

Jerry

I looked at some today that did not it just didn't feel right, that was me , I will have to go check it out at the store tomorrow, thanks Jerry. HHH.

[size=large]sounds like you were looking at the older models. that is before the up-graded ones. if these are being sold as new and for more than $500. i wouldn't buy one. i'd get the newer ATP with the locking cams. jmo

Thanks for that widebody I didn't know that. HHH. So the ones with locking collars are the updated ones.

[size=large]that's a yep. and i can't see why Garrett wouldn't take the locking cams to their other models. maybe the'd have to re-name each model and all the paper work involved. but that cam lock sure is nice. one has to figure in the cost of the up-grades if getting the older model ATP. that's $40.00.then you might have a $500.00 machine. and i believe you have until dec. 31 to get the up-grade and a new two year warranty starts.
another thought would be for Garrett to offer an up-grade on the Ace seriers with the Cam-locks. they have the same loose rod problems.

You can order just the cam lock I think...Not hard to install...2 piece item...inner and outer collars...

HH,

[size=large]thanks gopher. good to know.
