I called them about it. A lady in the sports dept. said they had some left and when they were gone ,that was it. Better get em before they are gone. Progress sucks.
 
They have updated the ACE 250 platform to the new ACE 200, ACE 300 and ACE 400. The ACE 250 has been around for a very long time, has probably been the greatest selling machine ever and is a great machine with it's performance. For Garrett to remain competitive, it has to move forward and improve it's product line, which it has. Unfortunately, it just doesn't warrant keeping the ACE 250 line running any longer. Garrett has a history of making excellent products and will continue to do so.

I got my 250 in 2007. Still remember that Xmas morning: It was in between the 2 sofas unwrapped because my dad didn't see the point in doing that. :) Ah, back in the day when I didn't have any adult worries. :) Dam time.
 
I have owned my Ace for many years and have a connection to the tones that tell me I have a good target under the coil. Manufactures to stay competitive cannot produce every model they made in the past and remain in business. Sometimes the componets used in that build design are Discontinued by the chip manufacture so the design gets an update. I have read enough posts asking why manufactures have not improved their line in awhile and asking why they are ignoring the future. Most are wanting ID numbers and ground balance etc to be added to basic detectors. The Ace line survives with the improvements most have asked for. The coils interchange so we do not have to buy the extra coils again.
 
Yes but the Ace 250 is the best seller world wide. Doesn't that tell you something? Nevermind..... ID numbers are flakier that tones. I was just trying to give everyone aheads up about losing a great machine. I for one do not want more distractions on the screen. I dig every target because I can't tell you how many times it said junk and it wasn't. Bells and whistles will not replace good old fashioned hard work for success. By the way the Ace automatically ground balances.
 
Ace 250 was my first detector 2 years ago. I got it used. Passed it on to my daughter in law and got the AT Pro, now I have added the Sea Hunter Mk ll. My next upgrade will probably be the ATX.

That's been tossed back and forth- as they claim it's a fixed g/b setting.
