has anyone ever used the garrett infinium and the excal and if so which is better in your mind and why thanks don

i have used both and i like the excaliber better maybe because i have had it for over ten years ironmask is sweet as is 3 tone id excaliber is supreme that being said i recently purchased a garrett infinium my experience showes that the pulse induction unit detects deeper although you will wear your arm out digging targets the high low,low high audio signal is not as helpful in identifying trash or treasure the machine picks up everything. it does have an iron check feature which helps identify if the target is or isnt iron, this is a manual feature not automatic, this can be a pain in high trash areas, you just need to dig every signal with the infinium. with the excaliber you can dig mid range tones and invaribly it will be either a pull tab, nickel, or gold, still the garrett is good quality i put my infinium on a minelab balanced shft assembly because the garrett shaft seemed whippy. i mainly use the garrett to go over areas that are heavily searched and its my backup detector, i also put an eight inch mono coil on it. as on any detector the more you use it the more you learn about it and the more you find.

Especially High Low. Most thin gold rings, bands are found with the high tone. Very few targets trigger Low High tone. Mostly coins, screw caps, large iron. I like the round mono coils much better.
