thank you

Hello braich, a few questions come to mind, as I read your inquirey. I need some answers to determine what to recommend.
1. Have you ever dectected in the water before and if so, with what unit and where?
2. Where are you going to be hunting primarily, salt or fresh?
3. Have you ever used a PI before?
4. Why are you choosing between these specific units?

I personally have never used an Infinium, but it's on my list of things to try. I have had 3 Mark IIs though and have 2 seasons of water hunting time with this unit. Get me some answers and I'll tell you what I think.

I've used the Infinium and it is very deep seeking with some tonal discrimination, high/low vs low/high. I found the tones very grating to listen to and didn't like it for that reason. The mate I borrowed it from didn't seem to mind the tones at all so maybe it was just because I'm used to the Excal. There were some ground balancing issues with the Infinium but these are fairly easy to overcome with a little experience. The seahunter I am not familiar with but the Infinium is a very good machine. I almost bought my Mate's when he left Bermuda but I'm now waiting impatiently for the new Whites discriminating PI unit.

Cheers,

Between the two Garrett detector mentioned.
The Infinium LS it is fare more versatile.

Sea Hunter is a good machine and will pick up everything. I tried one for awhile, but didn't like it. I liked the way it found everything, but didn't like the weight that came with it. No matter how I mounted it, I wasn't satisfied with the weight distribution. Hip mount or pole mount, it didn't matter. Finally brought it back and got something else I now love using.
Happy Hunting!!!
