Garrett GTI 2500

I just got this New GTI 2500 and the yellow buttons are sticking......does anyone else have this problem? They tilt forward or backward and get stuck under the metal plate. If you have this MD let me know how you like it. Nickel

i have had my pinpoint button stick.. the gti 2500 is my main detector the all metal is very deep i had Minelab Fisher Tesoro Teknetics and liked thim all but i like the gti 2500 the best

@razorback208....thanks for the vote of confidence! I just need to get used to this machine. I did find a buffalo nickel the other day.....date is hard to read, may be 1930. Thanks again for the comment. Nickel

My 2500 did the same thing when it was new. I think it is a common problem because of the roughness of the faceplate against the plastic buttons. I put silicon grease on a small, doubled piece of typing paper and ran that around each button to lubricate between the buttons and the faceplate. After a month or so of use it required a second application and then problem went away.

ups just left bringing my nel sharp coil and a garrett 8.5x11 dd coil for gti 2500 and its raining . i have some old house sites i will hit this weekend i will let you know how it goes

I've only seen the 2500 in person once when my dads old boss bought one new..... From what I remember with the 2500 button sticking was a minor problem for a short time.

@razerback408 I used the GTI 2500 yesterday with 9.5" coil...found 9 new coins and 5 pull tabs. Still getting use to it. I need to use the 12.5" Garrett proformance imaging coil the next time out to see how it does. I kept switching back and forth from factory set coin discrimination to zero. I was out performed by a low end bounty hunter machine with beginner operating the machine.....13 (qtr) 4 (dime) 4 (penny) ! It's raining today. :sad: Let me know how you do this weekend with the new coils! Nickel

Hey Nickle, haven't tried baby powder "yet" I just got a 2500 used and had to ship it right out to Garrett for repairs. It had some water damage preventing the pin point (not the button) from
working.
