Garrett GTI 2500 w/ 6 coils & 2 lower rods

Well, the time has come to sell "Old Reliable". This detector was my first real detector and has paid for itself twice just in the modern pocket change I've found with it. Plus over 30 silver rings, 1 gold ring and 1 gold necklace. But I'm moving on to other things and I'd rather see 'her' getting some good use with someone else than collecting dust at my house.

As you can see in the picture, I've got every coil available for this detector with the exception of the 2-box Treasure Hound and the double-D (tried both, didn't like them and sold them). I've got two of the 5x10 coils, one has a coil cover, the other doesn't. I bought one for my dad for his GTI 1500, but he decided he couldn't live without the imaging feature so he gave it back. There are two lower rods included.

Here's what you'll get:

Control box: overall very good condition; very light wear on foam padding in arm rest; very small indentation in screen (I couldn't manage to get a picture showing it, the light has to be on it just right for you to see it at all. It is more noticeable if you look at it through polarized lenses.) This indentation in no way affects the performance of the machine or the visibility of the screen but it wouldn't be right not to mention it. The rod portion is somewhat faded. (What can I say? This was my only detector for several years and 'we' spent many happy hours together in the hot New Mexico sun.)

Two lower rods: obviously seen some use - still totally functional.

Stock 9.5" imaging coil: The imaging coils are what set the Garrett GTI series apart. Not only does the screen tell you what type of metal is under the coil, it also gives you a good idea of the target size, i.e. smaller than coin, coin size, larger than coin, etc. The stock coil was my only coil for a while and it is very good at what it does. I found 80% of my finds with this coil.

12.5" imaging coil: I used this a few times searching for caches - it'll find a soda can sized target at 18+ inches. I found a silver quarter with it at 8-9 inches. It's a little heavier than the stock coil so I didn't use it a lot.

5x10 non-imaging coils (2): Absolutely wonderful for competition hunts. Fast and easy to swing, good target ID, super fast pinpointing make this coil a delight to use. This is the only coil I ever used in competition hunts and it was a killer!!! It also deals very well with mineralized coils and gives great target separation in trashy areas. The one with the coil cover was used a lot! The one without the coil cover was only used for about 30 minutes by my Dad.

12" non-imaging coil: I only used this a few times. It is great for searching the walls of houses for caches. You can use zero discrimination and still ignore the nails. It does not have a coil cover.

4.5" Sniper non-imaging coil: Has coil cover, almost new. I thought I'd use this a lot for increased target separation, but usually wound up using the 5x10 instead. (I understand they're great around playground equipment, but I've never tried it.) I tried it a few times just to make sure it worked.

I don't have (haven't found - yet!) the owner's manual for this detector. You can get it online at the Garrett website. They'll even send you a hard copy at your request.

I think $950 is a reasonable price to start at for all this. I can take PayPal (even using credit cards), US Postal Service money orders or personal checks (will wait until they clear). I will consider other reasonable offers. The ONLY trade I would be interested in would be an upgraded F-75 with large and small coils in good condition.
