GARRETT GTI 1500

i am thinking about geting a gti 2500 but looking at the gti 1500 to save a few dollers can some one give feed back on the 1500 thanks

I had a 1500 for many years and loved it. The imaging is fantastic. If your main interest is coin shooting, I am sure you would be happy with it. However, here are a couple points to consider. 1. Garret has discontinued the machine and is no longer selling it, so you would have to get a used machine. 2. The technology on both the 2500 and the 1500 is over fifteen years old. If you are considering a 2500, or something else to save a few bucks, you should consider an AT Pro or an AT Gold. The Pro's list is less than the 1500 listed at, but with newer and faster technology. Plus, you can get a deal from most dealers that is significantly less than list. I upgraded to an AT Pro and have found many coins that I missed with my 1500. I love the AT Pro and don't think you can go wrong with it. Let me know if you have other questions.

great input thanks i coin hunt and park and lake hunt on land i wan"t the imaging so it will be the 2500 or the 1500 i can still get a new 1500 some left overs on the bay

Another thing to consider, with the 2500 you can add on the 2 box system, if you're interested in deep relic hunting.

I have a 1500 and have found numerous relics, coins and even a few gold rings from a local lake. It's a great detector.

i dont see paying 680 for the 1500 but if i can get one for the right price i think i will give one a try

i really am pleased with my 1500 but id LOVE to have an ATpro
but the GTI is a great machine

I have and love my 1500. The imaging feature allows me to dig WAY LESS trash than any of my other machines.
It is a killer coin and jewelry hunter. Very accurate, and solid. Build quality is second to none.
The only feature the 1500 doesn't have is a coffee maker!

The 1500 is a good detector ! Used one for years with great success. Also had a 2500 another great detector. Running the 2500 in disc mode the detectors are just about the same. The true all metal mode really is the difference between them and the 2500 also has manual ground balance. If you were like me I hardly ever used the true all metal mode on the 2500. The 1500 has a lot of bang for the buck and is much lighter then the 2500.

Got one around 2002. That baby is one clad grabbing machine. Paid for itself in one season. Just gave it to my brother who will make me regret it. After he cleans my spots out.

I have both the1500 and 2500 good machines but now using the AT pro. Imaging was nices but can give up some depth. AT pro is my detector of choice and you can tell coin size by signal length. At Pro has faster recover than the other two machines.
