Hi All -- does Garrett manf a 5 x 8 DD for the 1250 ? ( the GTAx series - 550 , 750 , 1250 , 1350 all use the same coils) or will the ACE 5 x 8 work ? also i noticed there is an aftermarket 5" DD manf in the Ukraine --has anyone tried one? / i presently use the the 8" solid round and the 4.5 small sniper -- both are concentric -- --- just wonder if the DD coils are better in trash -the 4.5" sniper is probably all i need --hunt neutral /low mineral ground here in North Texas -- your opinions i appreciate , thanks Rick

hi i have a gtax 550 and got a Garrett 8.5 x 11" DD PROformance Coil from kellyco works great its close to the 12.5" i depth that i got from you hope that helps

I loved my GTAx1250!:garrett::detecting: I don't have one anymore, but used one for over a decade. I didn't know that those Bulgarians had a new coil available for it. I've dealt with them several times in the past and never had any problems. You can use any of the Ace 250 search coils for the GTAx1250. Depending upon your soil conditions, the disc might be off by a notch compared to stock coil. I used the 10"x14" DD Excelerator on mine as well as the 8"x6" SEF Butterfly search coils made for Ace 250 on my GTAx1250 and they worked great. Of course, you can use the Garrett 5"x8"DD or 8.5"x11"DD. Bear in mind, the DD or SEF search coils all love bottlecaps. So concentric is always better in that regard. I always loved those old 8.5" round white stock Crossfire 2. Great for coinshootin'. And that lil' sniper can't be beat. Ya know, you can also use those Rhinotough Elliptical concentric 6.5"x9" which were stock on GTP1350. Also, the 9"x12" Elliptical Concentric. Oh yeah, there's more.
Have fun with that GTAx1250! Happy Hunting!:)
