OK folks new to this forum, and would like some ideas....I have a gtax1000 I guess it is 10 or more years old, I am just getting interested in using it again after a long layoff . Is this machine up to today's standards ,and can new coils be added to it.. took it out yesterday at an old horse farm in middle Virginia and found a dollar or more in one hole,60's vintage coins, and wheat pennies.kind of have the bug again to hunt ,living in Va beach , I have not really ever hunted the beach much, but will probably start...any Ideas will be appreciated..

i still have my gta 1000 powermster edition i have found a lot of great stuff with it still use as my backup machine.i truly believe its up to todays standards and yes you can still get coils for it.

I have the GTAx550 and its an awesome machine and keep up with with lots of the newer machines. Just get out there and dig it!!!

I sold my GTA 1000 several years ago, but used it a LOT on the beaches of St Thomas.
The only problem I ever had was with wet, salt water beaches. It can't ground balance for salt water.
Once you get into the dry sand, it was a top performer.
