Just bought a nice older gtax 1000 so i would have a metered machine again. i currently use another brand & most of my hunting is relics. Had a gti 1500 for a short time a few months back & also a gtax 550. the 550 lacked on depth but,, was a blast of fun to use & did make some nice finds with it!

Anyway, was doing some air-tests earlier tonight & noticed the id wasn`t all that accurate on dimes or, pennies! i realize this is older techonology but is this normal or will it id better on a target (say a dime for instance) thats been in the ground a long time due to the "halo" effect? could have bought an ace 250 for a little more money but, i`ve always liked that belltone & the feel of the g models.

I notice the depth is better without notching anything out & i suppose thats due to less disc, more depth ! ?

anyway any comments about the target id appreciated.

Bob
