:garrett: DOES ANYONE KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT THE GARRETT 300?

The Garrett 300 is an older machine. The 250 is the new and
much improved version. You can still find the Garrett 300 around.
You don't heard people on the forum jumping up and down shouting the
wonders of the Ace300. Guess that says something.:detecting:

No it isn't. I field tested both of them for Garrett. The 100/200/300 are old models and are now sold by Kellyco under the name of Predator. THe 250 is far ahead of the 300.

The 300 was my only detector for years. Even after the 250 and other improved detectors were created. I got pretty good at pin-pointing by using the the "X" method. It made you work harder and consentrate more. I think the experience with the old 300 was a big help when I moved up the the 1500. I still drag it out once in a while when I want a bit of a challenge (and want to fell the weight of a lighter detector).
