GARRETT DETECTOR HELP

BIG-BOB

New member
Hi everyone I am looking for some advice...my question is I have owned all Whites detectors and 2 years ago after suffering a bad back injury and 2 surgeries I am looking for a new detector after the injury I sold my XLT but I have heard so much about the Garrett detectors I am liking them more and more now that I have researched them and read alot of reviews what I need help with is determining which Garrett detector to buy ?? I have experience approx 15 yrs on & off but not with a Garretts...I will mainly be using the detector for coins jewelry and some sand/beaches (not underwater) Please let me know what you think I would like to stay away from the TOP of line Garretts but I want something better then the 250..

Thank You

Hi Bob,
The AT-PRO would be a good choice. Got mine as a Christmas present and love it. A great detector for coins, jewelry and the beaches. I have not used the 350 but have seen some great reviews.

I would give the AT PRO some serious thought, while beach hunting you won't have to worry about a rogue wave or dropping your machine in the shallow water.

AT Pro.....waterproof and easy on the wallet, and your back.

[size=large]bought the gti 1500 and the ace 250. found both are bad on my shoulders. unbalanced. garrett doesn't seem to be inclined to fix that problem. very good machines otherwise. basically the same as the xlt in abilities. found my xlt to be the best for me. very well balanced. more confusing than the garretts. if coins are all you're looking to do then these three seem to be your best as far as cost. just saying i can swing my xlt alot longer than the ace 250. thats four pounds of bal. vs 2.5 of unbalanced. jmho.

Hi Trpl SSS, Thanks for replying, how easy is the ATP Pro to use I checked it out on both Kellyco & Garrett and see it is a submersible unit up to 10 ft but I am not going into the water with it so I figured this was not for me...But then a few others replied to my post and said it is a great machine and being waterproof it will save me from accidently getting it wet...good point...Is it a turn on ang go machine leaving you options to switch programs around etc....

Thank You, Bob
