Anyone remember a Garrett Cache hunter metal detector made in the early 70,s.. Are there any collectors out there that might be interested or can tell me about it and about what it is worth..
Those were just out of vogue when I started. You used a toggle switch to choose whether you wanted to use the smaller coil or the larger one. BFO was where it was at!
I've been watching old detectors on eBay. Vintage stuff has a small market and most of the 60s or 70s garrett stuff has been going for $50-$100. The ADS VLF stuff like the Deepseeker and Groundhog in the early 80s and even the mid 80s Coin Commanders have been going for around $100-$150-ish in good condition and near the higher end if there are accessories like extra coils, carrying case, etc. Mid 90s GTA stuff around $150 and up and GTAx for around $200-ish and up depending upon model, condition and accessories.
Bear in mind, these are only my observations from watching vintage detector auctions for Garrett stuff over the past couple months.
The people who will probably buy that are the ones who used that particular model and just want to relive their early years. If I could find an early 1970s Jetco Mustang, I'd like to buy it.. it was my first detector when I was 10.
I am not sure what you mean by model... but the serial # is 757 85 ( I am assuming this is the serial #)
I can send a picture if you like. We took it outside and it worked fine ...
