Will someone please give me some feedback on the GARRETT AT PRO as far as the target id (accurarcy), depth, beach performance, target rejection. The all-terrain is a plus so far. I am considering buying a new detector.

The TID seems to be pretty good. Seems to be on par with other machines in its price range.
The depth is not too bad. Maybe 7-8 inches on a dime in my test garden. Not as deep as an E-Trac but not $1500 either. Can't say about beach performance have not used it on the beach yet. The target rejection seems to be fairly decent. Seems like I still get some sounds when the ID jumps around when in coins mode but acceptable I think.

I'm pleased with the preformance of mind. Like BILL_S said it might not go as deep as other detectors, BUT it's not as much as they are either. It does get good depth and the target seperation is great. I have found a few good targets sitting over top of iron. I've read some post about it doing good in water too, I can't wait until spring to get mine in the water to see what it will do.

Start reading the forum ALOT! Do a search all the way back to novemeber and read, you get many answers about the AT.

Or just get one...its a reat machine!

I like it alot. I can't wait to get it to the beach. I mostly hit parks. Most of the problems I incur " iron". Are really my own fault. It seams that in pro mode I tend not checking targets with Iron audio. Midtones I just dig..
It is also apparent to me that I tend not to dig deep targets in the parks. I don't want to get kicked out and I am lazy. I have found that my jewlry ratio to digs have gone up Some have not been great but I am on the right track.
The seperation is great. I recently foud 5 quarters in 20 inch circle. I had to zero on to each one. At first it was going nuts. I just stayed with it and found them all with other crap surrounding. In 2 90 minutes i got 78 targets. I went back to the same area and it appearts that I did a pretty good job of cleaning the area of coins. There might be a couple of spots I did not hit as hard but happy with the out come.

At first I was hunting in std mode w/ iron disc at 40.. I still found coins. easy. Next I worked mid tones in zero mode. to practice for the beach.
In general the machine works exactly as promised. Batteries last a long time. Ground balancing is easy. Freq switch is easy. Damn thing works good!

By the way I found the smallest piece of silver ever for me(charm). It hit like a freight train (headphones were working very well).

Bill S what type of soil do you have and is your test garden new or old.
The more info we get the more we know. Thanks Mike G

The targets I have buried have not been buried that long maybe 3 months but I also have two other detectors that will hit some of the targets the AT pro will not so that is what I go by. I live in mid Missouri and the detector will usually ground balance around 74 or so. I think the ground is pretty good.

i love mine its right on id & deep
did any 1 mention its waterproof ? :detecting:
