Garrett AT PRO or AT GOLD

New member
Hello!

I had a metal detector 13 years ago but I am pretty new to it. I cannot decide if I am going for the AT PRO with an extra 5"x8" coil or the AT GOLD. I live inland in Norway in the country side/mountains so I will not use it in salt water. I will hunt at old places where people lived before, old roads, fresh water rivers and fields.

If your strictly a coin and jewelery hunter, me personally would choose
the AT Pro. If your looking for Relics or Prospecting, then I'd go with the
AT Gold. High conductors At Pro. Low conductors At Gold. Both machines
are very capable of both but run at different frequencies. Those frequencies
dictate what metals are more responsive for the task at hand. JMHO!
I own both and never used a Garrett detector before and been detecting
16 years and the At Pro has found me my oldest Coins and Gold find.
Just. really great machines for the MONEY and they WORK!!!
Using a Garrett was an eye opener for me.
Just my input from 1 of 1000's. Hope this helps a little. Whichever
one you choose believe me you can't go wrong.Wish you the Best!!!

Go with the AT Pro. It was designed to also perform well in water. Both machines would do well for most types of metal detecting.

Thanks for reply. Since I am new at this I think I will hunt what ever I will find
So the ATP is better for general hunting? Which of the machines is easiest to learn for a beginner?

For a beginner wanting an AT series machine I would
take John's advice and go with the AT Pro as I
feel it's easier to pick it up and turn it on and Go...
The At Gold is a little bit more intricate with certain
settings especially in mineralized. soil and if
not set up to conditions you won't find SQUAT!!!
JMHO. 1 of 1000's. Hope this helps and Good luck!!!

If I were primarily doing relic hunting in and around old sites I would definitely get the AT GOLD for its deep all metal mode and when needed it's adjustable iron rejection mode. It's really not that difficult to setup and use properly ...

Of course there is a new Garrett coming out in 11 days!:hot::clap::wiggle::garrett:

Dear . Just think of that. Wait only until 6 may because the new generation of Garrett at pro it will come in the world . So don't waste your money now . The at pro is great machine but inside the salt water you will feel confused with it but i think with new model they will make the new modes can help you better than the old 2010 model . Regards
