Garrett AT Pro:garrett: Lots Of Wheats And Some Silver:detecting:

I met Taylor (CZconnoisseur) at a 1954 house this morning to see if we could dig up some silver. I didn't have high hopes since the house wasn't that old. Right off the bat I dug a 1935 Washington Quarter that was next to the driveway. I knew it was silver before I even dug, so I called Taylor over to run his coil over it and for him to watch me dig it. In all the excitement I forgot to take pictures. I was digging wheat pennies (14 of them) left and right, they were everywhere. Some of them where on top of the ground. Surprisingly there wasn't a lot of trash. Later on I got really good signal with a ID number of 81 and popped Memorial penny, I rescanned the hole and popped another Memorial penny, I rescanned and got another 81 ID reading. I almost covered the hole up because I didn't want to dig any more pennies in that coin spill, but I decided to dig it anyway. Yep, another memorial penny. I rescanned the hole and got a 85/87 ID number. I think called out to Taylor and told him that I thought I had silver under the coil. Sure enough, it was 1951 Washington Quarter at bottom of the hole. You got to dig those pennies.:) Later on I got my coil over another silver coin, a 1964 Rosie. Last but not least, I found a Ford Thunderbird folding key. I'm going to soak in olive oil to see if I can get the keys to pull out. I had a great time today. I ended up in my t-shirt soaking up the warm Sun. I think Taylor ended up with 5 or 6 silver coins. He's a digging machine. He's going to do a video of his hunt over in the Deus forum. Maybe he got some video of my 1935 Quarter dig.

Nice silver, however, that Thunderbird key fob is a neat find. That was a great car (chick magnet ) back then.

Fantastic day for the both of us! I think a future hunt in that neighborhood is warranted - need to drive down a few streets and keep eyes peeled for some available rentals! :super:

Yeah, thats a great take on the silver in one hunt!:clapping: Another great job there Tab!

Thanks everyone I had a great time. :) Not too many days get that pleasant in late December. To top it off, we both found lots of silver and had a chance to compare detectors over different targets.

Oh yeah, Taylor did a great video of parts of the hunt. http://www.findmall.com/read.php?83,2132663

It was sure great watching you guys work that yard! Got to see the Tab in action! :beers: You can tell you were a boxer at one point in time! Maybe you can get yourself a new kneeling board for Christmas! I sure wish I was there, that looked like some real good old dirt and a lot of targets!

Mud I really like my kneeling pad.:) I carry it, my ProPointer and digger between my fingers in my left hand. I never holster anything, I'm always ready for action. I can drop down to dig a target in one easy swoop. You have to work hard to keep up with Taylor. I never seen anyone who liked metal detecting as much as he does. If he was retired and didn't have to work most everyday, he would have 4 times the amount of finds that he has now. Cold whether and darkness doesn't slow him down. I draw the line when it comes to hunting at night and in super cold rainy weather.:)

Wow, what an awesome hunt! There's a ton of old vacant lots in the town I work in. I just don't know how to get permission to get on 'em. And Taylor must be a young man with all that "get up and go", lol.

Really sweet finds and I too think the T-Bird folding key is the best. I would soak it in light penetrating oil like "3 in 1" instead of an organic like olive oil.
