...............................................................but it's a nice one!:) I found a 1896 Barber Quarter right off the bat this morning at a old park. I'm beginning to believe that silver coins bite better early in the morning. For the rest of the day I didn't find anything but a bunch of Wheat Pennies (1921, 1944, 1937, 1927, 1944, 1944, 1920, 1953, 19??, 1959, 1950, 19??, 1941, 1956, 1920), a old game token, and a couple of bullets. I was running the AT Pro in the Pro Zero Mode with maximum sensitivity. It ran super quiet. My deepest coin was a wheat penny at 8 inches with a weak broken audio signal. I'd like to use a bigger coil but the AT Pro is too bad out of balance for my arm to handle for a long hunt. That's a crying shame. At any rate, I'll make do with the 5 x 8 coil, it kicks butt up to 7 inches or so. I'm going see if Jim will loan me his NEL Sharpshooter coil to see if I like it any better than the 5 x 8 coil. I'm going to sell my unused stock coil.

What a great day you had. I'm hoping to find some silver this weekend on an old camp ground. Thanks for sharing

You are slaying those Barber quarters. I've got the NEL on right now. so if we see each other in the morning you can swing mine for a feel. It is probably the same weight as the one you have for your SE and it's no less weight then the stock 11." That 5 x 8 Garrett is like swinging a feather. I go to the gym so I don't have a problem with the stock or the NEL. HH jim tn

Gym my butt! That's nothing but a social hour for you.:) I see you out in the field detecting and it looks like to me that you're slowing down some.

I did weigh the AT Pro stock coil with cover and it weighs 1lb 4 oz. The Sharpshooter coil with cover weighs 15.3 oz. It's attachment point is in the center of coil and that alone should make it less nose heavy. I can put one of my other Sharpshooter coils on the AT Pro to get a 'feel'. I was hoping to be able to see for myself how it worked for me on a hunt. I guess I'll have to go out and buy one to find out.:)

You can borrow mine. I am going to sell one of the small coils and trying to decide which. Oh, and I am not the guy that has to take a day off from detecting every couple of hunts to recoup!!!!!! HH jim tn

I dig most all targets looking for gold jewelry and that much digging day after day wears on you. If I was an old silver coin cherry picker like you, I could detect nonstop. :)

Also my silver coin count would go up. I just can't stop digging for gold rings, because I know just one of them could be worth more than a sack full of silver coins.

Ya, ya, ya, and how is all that digging working out for you? HH jim tn

It working out great! I already have several nice gold rings so far this year and I still managed to dig a bunch of silver coins.:)

Congrats! That is a beauty.

I have to agree on the balance with a stock coil, my At Gold is the same. But I am really starting to love it anyway and need the depth of the stock coil on the beach here.

Nice higher value Barber, tabman! Hope the next one's an 'S'! I like the token, too- found the same one a while back.

I could give you a long list of things that I dislike about the AT Pro, but there are some really good things to equal it all out. Like it's super quiet for the depth it gets on coins.

I don't have a need for waterproof, so if Garrett made a detector with the guts of the AT Pro and had the balance and display of the T2SE and F75SE, I'd be in hog heaven.

If your detector is out front of you leading the way ..that makes for a sore shoulder...

Thanks for the tip Elton. I just did a minor mod. I'm just over 6'1''and the armrest cuff length was too short even for me. I moved the armrest cuff back by drilling a third hole. Doing that moved the armrest cuff back another inch or so. I could feel an improvement. On another note, when I extended the lower rod out by one hole to make it longer, it felt better balanced. Go figure. I want to make the armrest cuff more comfy. I need to put some kind of padded cover on it. Any tips will be deeply appreciated.

Here are some pictures of the mod. If anyone does this mod make sure that you don't put the hole so far back where it will interfere with the plug.
