I got a late start this morning, but I did managed to find a couple of silver coins before the rain started. I was using the 5 x 8 DD coil and running full sensitivity in the pro zero mode. My first piece of silver was a 1912 Barber Dime and it gave a good high tone. The second piece of silver was a 1917 Mercury Dime. It didn't give a clean high tone. It was a little choppy, but the signal had enough depth and high tone for me to investigate. I'm not sure, but I think the coin might have be a little on edge. All the Wheat Pennies (1919,1916,1942,1919) gave very little high tone, just a whiff, but they all had plenty of depth. Anything in an old area with depth is gonna get dug by me.:)

What camera are you using? Your photos are so nice and crisp......nice finds by the way.

The Cannon Power Shot SD600 Digital Elph for pictures taken in the field. I use the the micro setting for the close-up hole shots. At home I use the Nikon Coolpix S8100.

Nice oldies in the silvers.

Way to go on the coins man. That's a nice pair of silver dimes! I prefer to hunt a day or two after a good rain.... the digging`s easier, and I think you get a little bit more depth out of your machine. Congrats! :clapping:

Really nice coins and great post!

That's a good looking Barber, Gerald!

Sweet! That's a nice pair of ladies :clapping:!
