I headed out with a light rain on my windshield early this morning. Not to be deterred, figured if it didn't stop raining I'd spend my day looking for good places to detect. I was driving up and down streets in an area that I thought would hold silver coins. I came upon a old foreclosed run down house that I thought I'd check out since the rain seemed to have stopped except for a light mist. Nothing but trash in the front yard, so I went around back and low and behold I found some old clothesline poles. My favorite place to search. About half way in between the two poles I got funky zinc reading and audio response. Since target is in a good place I had to dig it up and see what it was. Good thing, it turned out to be a sterling silver bracelet. Whoopee! That's the only thing that I found good at that junky site. It started to rain again, so I got in the car and headed out looking for another place to swing my coil. I found a large corner lot with a vacant house on it that looked promising. The rain let up, so I decided to work the grassy area between curb and sidewalk. I got into a mess of wheat pennies ( 1948, 1956, 1951, 1950, 1956, 1945, 1942, 1954, 1944, 1952, 1951, 19??, 1944, 1957, 1944, 1946, 1951, 1936, 1958, 1944, 1945, 1948 ). 7 or 8 of them came from a coin spill that I almost didn't dig. Why couldn't that have been a silver coin spill? Finally I got a weak bouncy audio signal with the VDI numbers ranging from 78 to 81. I dug down around 8 inches and popped a 1960 Rosie. I'm on a roll.:) Not too much later I got great audio signal with a 82/83 VDI number that I was pretty sure was a silver dime. Yep, a 1944 Mercury Dime about 5 inches deep. It started back raining again so head for home. I was a muddy mess, but I had a great time. I was using the Pro Zero mode with full sensitivity.

Excellent hunt! Your perseverance is admirable since it was wet (in this neck o' the woods) almost all day long! :clapping: Those curb strips are really nice to you - an 8-Wheat spill?!?!? That's amazing!

Have a doozy of a morning hunt tomorrow, house built in 1922 - there will be video, excitement, and hopefully silver coins roll out of the ground if all goes well! Glasses aren't waterproof but everything else is...maybe there WON'T be video...

Thanks. I love hunting those curb strips and clotheslines.

Good luck tomorrow. Wear a baseball cap to shied the rain off the video glasses.

You always get the sunshine G...AWESOME !!!!

Nice work! Like your pictures and story as well. Must be the week for ID bracelets. I think I got 3 this year the last one just a couple of days ago. Running around detecting on hunches can be very productive and fun as your post shows. It is something I like as well when I don't have a particular site in mind.

I had a kind of scary moment today. I had huge pit bull with a head the size of basketball growling at me from behind a fence. The chain link fence was only 4 feet tall and he had his elbows up on top of the fence. That fence was way too low for my likening, so I eased towards the car and left for another location. I'll let someone else detect for silver coins along that stretch of curb and sidewalk.:)

Every time someone uses that exact phrase, they get more then one silver find. The periodic table calls it Ag, which in simple terms stands for "all good"

I really like how you laid out this post!, the pictures of the location, and right next to it the find!...you have been really tearing up the dirt silver here lately!:clapping:

Dogs seem to be interested in these detectors quite a bit for some reason..they can hear the pings or something...you shoulda got a pic of that beast! naaaw! you did right by just easing on out of there all peaceful..
