I headed out with a light rain on my windshield early this morning. Not to be deterred, figured if it didn't stop raining I'd spend my day looking for good places to detect. I was driving up and down streets in an area that I thought would hold silver coins. I came upon a old foreclosed run down house that I thought I'd check out since the rain seemed to have stopped except for a light mist. Nothing but trash in the front yard, so I went around back and low and behold I found some old clothesline poles. My favorite place to search. About half way in between the two poles I got funky zinc reading and audio response. Since target is in a good place I had to dig it up and see what it was. Good thing, it turned out to be a sterling silver bracelet. Whoopee! That's the only thing that I found good at that junky site. It started to rain again, so I got in the car and headed out looking for another place to swing my coil. I found a large corner lot with a vacant house on it that looked promising. The rain let up, so I decided to work the grassy area between curb and sidewalk. I got into a mess of wheat pennies ( 1948, 1956, 1951, 1950, 1956, 1945, 1942, 1954, 1944, 1952, 1951, 19??, 1944, 1957, 1944, 1946, 1951, 1936, 1958, 1944, 1945, 1948 ). 7 or 8 of them came from a coin spill that I almost didn't dig. Why couldn't that have been a silver coin spill? Finally I got a weak bouncy audio signal with the VDI numbers ranging from 78 to 81. I dug down around 8 inches and popped a 1960 Rosie. I'm on a roll. Not too much later I got great audio signal with a 82/83 VDI number that I was pretty sure was a silver dime. Yep, a 1944 Mercury Dime about 5 inches deep. It started back raining again so head for home. I was a muddy mess, but I had a great time. I was using the Pro Zero mode with full sensitivity.
