Garrett AT Pinpointer Question

RLOH

Well-known member
I have been using Garrett pinpointers since they came out and in my opinion, they are the best. I detect 100 times a year and I can usually get two plus years on a pinpointer. I have always used the black version(most recently pinpointer 11) and always stayed with it because I could hear it with my phones on. This year I decided to try the orange AT because of some of it's features. I like the features, but I can't hear the audio with my phones on.

My question. Is there a way to increase the audio without damaging the pinpointer? I suspect that the speaker is covered to make it completely waterproof, but I don't know that for sure. I will never put the AT under water, so if there is a way to make it louder? If I had known what I now know, I would have stayed with the Pinpointer 11.

Try turning down your volume on your headset, or remove them when pinpointing. I doubt if you can increase the volume on the pin-pointer. I ended up with hearing aids last year:rofl: so I can now hear very well.

Good luck!

I just got the carrot pinpointer. I like the black one better, just on, or off. The new one has too many modes, so if you try to turn it off, and are not quick enough, it changes modes instead of turning off. So you are never sure if it is set correctly the next time you turn it on. On the plus side, it vibrates under water.
