how does the detector battery pack wire to only use 4 rechargeable 9v. ? looks like it does not use the outside battery on each end.
 
No, the 6 are used all right...they have 2 circuits and four operate Circuit 1, and two operate Circuit 2
Got to do with battery checks and voltage regulation etc.
