Hi everyone great website. I traded my Tesoro Silver UMax for a Garrett Ace 150 and was wondering the good the bad and the ugly on this little yellow machine. I should get it tomorrow 4/3/06 can't wait to test it out. I welcome all comments. Thanks! Steve. P.S. I have read that the coils on the Ace's can be broke easy,is this true?

xcellent detector, basically the same elec as the 250, without the PP button and some other doo dads, works great id's good , good depth , just run sens at 2 bars, any more /you just don't need unless your'e after deep relics, on a 250 they run 4 bars , cause it's divided into 8 instead of 4, so 1/2 sens is plenty, X target in or de-tune, and your'e right on, look at some of my posts of the finds the last week, for me i just don't need the other bells and whistles, good outfit:twodetecting::garrett::garrett::usmc::usaflag:, the coil is easily broken by running over it with your car or pickup truck, sometimes a bicycle ridden by a 150 pounder will crack or break a coil=be warned:detecting:

Get a coil cover for it as the coil is epoxy filled and will chip easy. The first time out with my 260 I brushed the coil against a rock and took a chip out of it. A fellow posted the other day that his was so bad he could see the coil wires. Be on the safe side and get a cover its worth it when you consider the price of a coil. HH Ken

Not hardly as they are poured resin. Maybe if you drove tent stakes with one. :) Ain't tomuch ugly about it. Check out the massive finds made by Ian, one of our regulars, and his 150 in Japan.
