Garrett 1500 lmaging on gold rings?

I Always wondered about the imaging on the Garret 1500/2500 models. I Know there is no magic bullet , But couldn't it be used to cut down the odds on gold rings vs. certain trash targets like foil and pull tabs of some kind? If so anybody had luck using it this way? Thanks.

You only get a relative size, so a wad of foil could easily be the same size as a ring. It does help eliminate a lot of trash though.

It can be......it works best in the top 5-6 inches. But rings can be about the same size as some pull tabs. Pull tabs tend to give a mote harsh tone then gold.

I have heard of the Garrett GTI 1500. That must have been the first one in the GTI series. Are some of those still around?
