garret revamping

I have an American S2 Garrett metal detector (in S.Africa you do not find detectors ,so I am holding on to this machine!!!)
To upgrade it, I want to install new schematics in it to be able to nugget-hunt.I think I do not have to throw away the box, meters, switches etc.
Is there anybody that can help me with advice or where I can order?
